A native of Terrell County, Mrs. Walton was a daughter of the late George Denton and Ruby Herrington Denton. She was a long standing member of Athens First United Methodist Church and the Athens Garden Club. Mrs. Walton was a longtime supporter of Georgia 4-H Clubs and loved playing Bridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Tommy L. Walton Jr.; and sister and brother-in-law, Maggie Lee and Bo Stephens.
Survivors include son, Tommie Laurice (Larry) Walton III; grandchildren, Andra Melanie Walton, Wendi Suzann Walton (Todd Baron); great-grandchildren, Alexandra Dorrie Corvin and Taryn Dane Corvin; caregiver and friend, Rebecca Robin Hill.
A memorial service will be held in May 2017.
