Norah was born in Fraserburgh, Scotland to the late James Willox and Mary Easton Willox and attended local schools there. She moved to the United States in 1969, living in the Detroit area before moving to Athens in 1975. Norah worked as a cook with the Clarke County Board of Education, retiring after 22 years of service. She was an active member of The Catholic Center, where she volunteered in many areas, cooked food for funerals and helped with parking on UGA Game Days. Norah loved to travel and visited all 50 states and 44 countries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Willox and sisters, Iris Smith and Sheila Jessiman.
Norah is survived by her husband, Tom Risher of Bogart; children, Carol Pawlik and her husband, Steve of Dawsonville; Mike R. Risher and his wife, DeeDee of Oconee County and Diana Risher of Bogart; sister, Frances Greig of Scotland; five grandchildren, Stephen Pawlik, Alyssa Pawlik, Sara Pawlik, Michael Risher and Andrew (Drew) Risher.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m., at The Catholic Center at UGA with a reception to follow in the church hall.
