Patricia is survived by husband of 51 years, William (Will) R. Sheahan; her sister, Melissa Snowden; her brother-in-law, Pride Sheahan, and his wife, Linda Sheahan; her niece, Adell Sheahan; and her nephew, Jack Sheahan, and his wife, Taylor Sheahan.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Trisha grew up moving around the country—including stays in Honolulu, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Alexandria—as the daughter of the late Major Dave O. Snowden, a career Air Force pilot, and the late Pat Snowden.
Trisha attended UNC Greensboro for two years before transferring to the University of Georgia when her family relocated to Marietta. She earned her BA in History and worked for the Political Science Department while I completed graduate school. We met in a history class in 1975 and were married in 1979. After several years away, we returned to Athens in 1994, where Trisha worked as an administrative assistant at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center until her retirement in 2018.
Trisha was dedicated to helping others, volunteering for several years with Learning Ally and Our Daily Bread. She had a passion for knitting, baking, and gardening, and cherished our trips to the beach and mountains, as well as boat rides on Lake Oconee. She was a true dog lover, and together we adopted and raised many dogs and a few cats over our 51 years together.
There is no service planned at this time, but a memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
For those who wish to make a donation in her memory, contributions can be made to: Athens Canine Rescue: [email protected] or Washington Wilkes Animal Shelter: 358 Brown Road, Washington, GA 30673 (Tel: 706-678-2287)
