I first met Bishop Hollett in 1992 after bringing Elyse home from Ricks College. Back then I thought him to be a stern man and wasn't quite sure what to think. Little did I know that he would be someone that I looked up to and admired. The man that I would think of as a second father to me. He helped me through one of the most difficult times of my life. He would often tell me that he was a black and white thinker, but then again so am I. He would listen to me and give me counsel. He would look into my eyes with those green eyes and see right to my soul. He knew when I was hurting and when I was happy. He always gave me a hug and told me often that he loved me. The Hollett family has always been an inspiring family to watch. The love that they have for one another is beyond words, but it extended beyond that. Bishop and Sister Hollett loved those around them and made you feel special, like you were the most important person to them. I will miss calling him on Father's day. I am honored to say that I knew and loved such an amazing man. I know that I will see him again some day and I know that he will be there with open arms waiting to give me one of those amazing hugs and to look into those green eyes and hear him say that he is proud of me and that he loves me as he did so many times before. Thank you for all that you've done for me and my family! You will be greatly missed.

Bruce and I "bonded" quickly after his arrival back at UGA as I was from Kentucky and identified with The Bluegrass area where he came from. That friendshoip cemented and lasted and how could it have been otherwise with that infectious smile, friendly attitude and always pleasant greeting. I respected him greatly and have lost a sincerely trusted friend and Colleague. Louie Boyd, UGA Retiree in Animal an Dairy Science.
