A native of Gwinnett County, he was the son of the late Verdis and Ruth Paden Hutchins and was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy Brown of Madison County. Mr. Hutchins was a graduate of Buford High School, attended the University of Georgia and retired from Athens Tire and Supply Company. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Emogene Harper Hutchins, daughters Janet Prince, Margaret Youngblood and husband Philip and Robin Drewry and husband Luke, brother Ralph Hutchins and wife Donna, seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchilren.
Funeral services will be 11am Monday, January 7th, at the chapel of Bernstein with Dr. Stewart Simms officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 6th, from 3-5 at Bernstein.
