
Rickey Howard Fletcher, 74, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. Born on December 21, 1950, Rickey was the son of the late Howard and Jeanette Hembree Fletcher, a long-time resident of Nicholson, and had been part of the Jackson County community for over 40 years.
Rickey attended Athens High School, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and skill. His career was distinguished by over 20 years of service as an industrial mechanic at Viratech, from which he retired, leaving a legacy of hard work and commitment.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Sharon E. Fletcher of Nicholson. His family includes his children, Donna E. Pace (Edward Thompson III) of Loganville and Larry Ray Tillery of Jackson County. Rickey was also a cherished grandfather to Malerie C. Pace, James A. Pace, Blake Andrew Pace, Timothy Tillery, Christopher Tillery, and Patrick Tillery, and a proud great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren.
In his personal life, Rickey found joy in riding his Harley-Davidson. His passion for motorcycles was evident as he was a certified Harley-Davidson mechanic and an active member of the ABATE Club.
Rickey will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his community, and his love of motorcycles. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
