A native of Sharon, Pa., Mr. Pintar was the son of William and Donna (Wozniak) Pintar. He was a graduate of Youngstown University with an Engineering Degree. Robert joined the military as an Officer and moved to San Francisco with his newlywed wife, Fay, to oversee the first missile defense program of the West Coast. He and Fay, along with their six sons, moved to Athens in 1972, where he became an International Sales Manager with Westinghouse and retired after 40 years of service.
Mr. Pintar is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Fay Pintar; sons: Robert T. Pintar Jr., William Pintar, Richard Pintar, and Mark Pintar.
Survivors include sons: John “Jack” Pintar of Athens and Thomas “Tom” Pintar (Krystal) of Athens; daughters-in-law: Jane Pintar of Decatur, Ala. and Paige Mitchell of Athens; grandchildren: Jacob “Jake” Pintar and Lee Pintar (Melanie) of Athens.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, at 3:30 p.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 19, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
