So sorry to hear about one of my favorite bulldogs supporters! He always went out of his way to speak to
Me and shake my hand. He will be missed.          My wife Barbara and I will keep the family in our prayers.  Saw him at church every  Sunday.

I met Bobby at the Y in Spin class. He was an inspiration! He always rode on the bike in the corner...Bobby's bike....forever Bobby's bike....last night we rode along to a play list he created. Thanks Bobby. Rest easy my brother

Bobby was one of a kind, always very uplifting and funny. I Always enjoyed seeing Bobby at the YMCA, he always called me Sky King loving to hear all my flying stories. 
 I worked with him on the board of directors of Athens Athletic Hall of fame. Bobby was a special person, he will truly be missed by many. God's Speed my friend!

I have too many memories of Bobby to mention them individually, but he was a unique and caring person. We played together as children and enjoyed knowing him and his family through the years. He will be missed and remembered. Love and prayers to Sandra, Peggy Sue and all the family..

I spent a good amount of time with Bobby during the '80s while I was attending Georgia Southern and would travel to Athens. I have to say that we had alot of fun at Lakeview and when we went to lunches, there weren't too many topics we didn't touch upon. He was always kind to me and I am very sorry that he is no longer with us. My best wishes to his sisters and family, who were also a pleasure to spend time with.

We met Bobby three years ago on my very first day at the YMCA. We took a spin class together and quickly discovered that we were neighbors in Kingswood. Over the next three years, we came to know Bobby as one of the kindest and most selfless people we’ve ever met. No matter what was going on in his own life, he always wanted to know how we were doing, and he was always asking if there was anything he could do for us.
When we were expecting our daughter last March, Bobby was genuinely excited for us. Every time we saw him, he would ask how things were going and how the baby was doing. Not long after she was born, I came home from work one day and checked the mail. There was a package from Bobby and Sandra. Inside was a beautiful sterling silver piggy bank engraved with our daughter’s name. I remember thinking at that moment just how special Bobby and Sandra truly are.
After Bobby’s accident, I made it a point to call him every Saturday just to check in. I knew how much he loved that spin class, and I knew how much he missed being there. Every time I called, he would answer with the same response: “Boy, I sure do appreciate that, but I’m doing just fine. Is there anything that I can do for you, good sir?” Even during one of the most difficult seasons of his life, Bobby was still focused on others. He loved people, and he had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel valued and loved. Anytime I saw Bobby, my day was instantly better.
What I learned about Bobby can really be summed up in three things: he loved Jesus, he loved his family, and he loved the Georgia Bulldogs. Those passions were evident in the way he lived his life every day. I only wish I could talk to my friend one more time, give him a hug, and tell him how grateful I am for his friendship.
We will miss Bobby dearly, and we will always make sure our daughter knows that her piggy bank came from Mr. Bobby and Mrs. Sandra.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Sandra and the entire Poss family.

Bobby was a staple in my spin class. So much so I had a song Playlist for him. He will be missed.

Bobby was blessed with a wonderful family. His parents were always so kind and nice and I always thought his mother was lovely in every possible way.  My thoughts and prayers are with Peggy Sue and all family members and friends.

He will truly be missed by all who knew him! Back in the 1980s he was in charge of the concessions at the UGA games and that was where I met him! I had the pleasure (Lol) of carrying the barbeque sandwiches in a big warmer back down from the top floor of the stadium down to a table where Bobby was at waiting and he would ask how many we had left and write it down! I always liked Bobby! He didn't put up with lazy people that's for sure! Bobby you are so missed and I even now have so many memories of you! God bless Bobby's family! RIP!

Bobby was a blessing to everyone who had the pleasure of sharing the same space.  His kindness and brilliant smile would light up the room. Rest in peace.

Sheryl and I have lost a great friend. Always positive, always helpful and always a true Bulldog! We can only imagine the reunion Bobby is having now with his Dad in Heaven. So fortunate our paths crossed at UGA.

I am so sorry to hear about Bobby’s passing. I was 15 years old when he hired me and my sister as a waitress at Poss’ restaurant. He had been a great boss. Bobby would let my parents fish at Poss’ Lakeview.  Such a nice person. I considered  him a friend. Over the years I would see him  now and then. He never changed. He was always such a pleasant person.

Everyone at Strickland’s Restaurant…..Strickland family, employees and BS table buddies will miss him so much. Really already had been since he wasn’t able to come as much lately. Keeping your family in prayers.

I never had the pleasure of knowing Bobby Poss personally, and as far as I know our paths never crossed. Yet I was genuinely saddened to learn of his passing.

I was a student at the University of Georgia in the early 1970s, and the Poss family was simply part of Athens life. My then-girlfriend, the lovely Miss Faye Ellen Kennedy—now my wife of 50 years—and I ate regularly at Poss’ Barbecue on the Atlanta Highway.

I remember liking the food, but one of my clearest memories is of the waitresses entering the dining room carrying steaks on hot metal plates, sizzling all the way across the room. I would follow the waitress with my eyes to see which table was getting the steak. I never ordered one because, as a college student, I didn’t think I could afford it. In my mind, those steaks were going to the rich people’s tables.

Poss’ touched other parts of my UGA years as well. I went to Poss’ Lakeview as part of Greek Week. I remember buying Poss’ Brunswick stew at the grocery store. And, of course, the Poss name was part of Georgia football and Saturdays in Athens.

None of that seemed remarkable at the time. Poss’ was simply part of Athens.

I never knew Bobby Poss, but apparently I knew Poss’ better than I realized.

Learning more about Bobby and the three generations of the Poss family after hearing of his death has made me appreciate something I couldn’t have understood as a young man: how thoroughly that family was woven into Athens and the University of Georgia.

As we grow older, pieces of the world we knew disappear one at a time. Bobby’s passing brought back some very happy memories of Athens, Georgia football, good barbecue, and a pretty young woman sitting across the table from me who, thankfully, is still sitting across the table from me today.

My condolences to the Poss family, and my thanks for the memories.

So very saddened to hear about the passing of Bobby today. The world has lost a good man, and my heart goes out to his family and all those who knew and loved him.

Bobby was one of those people whose presence made a difference, and I know he will be deeply missed by many. There simply aren't words that can take away the sorrow of losing someone you love, but I pray that the family finds comfort in the wonderful memories they made together and in knowing how much Bobby meant to so many people.

May God wrap His loving arms around Bobby's family and friends and give them strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead. And may they always remember that although we may say goodbye here on earth, our faith reminds us that goodbye is not forever.

Rest easy, Bobby. May God welcome you home!  I'll forever think of you whenever I hear someone shout "Go Dawgs!"
