As a boy, I can remember listening to the familiar voice of Roland Brooks on the Dixie Farm and Home Hour on WSB. Later, when I entered the radio and TV business, I had the opportunity to work with him. He was a great Georgian who loved his state, its great university and those who produced food and fiber.

Very few people leave behind a legacy comparable to that of Roland Brooks. It was nearly impossible to meet Roland without caring deeply for him, because it was so clear that he cared deeply for you. All his many accomplishments sprang from the constancy of that affection. I'm sorry I learned of his passing too late to attend his funeral. I look forward to seeing Roland at his best in eternity.

Roland was a bright spot to the Health Center the days that he worked at the information desk. He would always interact with the students when they would come in. He will be greatly missed. He is know with all of his loved ones and no longer in pain.
