A native of Augusta, GA, Rufus was the son of the late Carrie Bell and David Harris. Rufus was an active member of the Athens community. He brought joy to everyone he encountered and his smile always brightened the room.
Rufus is survived by his sisters, Doris Harris, Cecelia Ware, Chandra Anderson, Sandra Anderson, and Patricia Anderson; a brother, Tyrone Anderson; nephews, Sammie Carlisle and Governor Carlisle and his Hope Haven Family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at New Faith Tabernacle, 198 South Peter Street, Athens, GA, officiated by Rev. Shane Moore.
