Rumelle Sutton McCurley

A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Paralee Sutton and was also preceded in death by her husband, James McCurley. She was also preceded in death by her brother Gerald Sutton. Mrs. McCurley retired from the Athens Country Club where she was employed as a bookkeeper and was a member of the Young Harris United Methodist Church.

Survivors include son Ed McCurley of Athens and daughter Gwynne Simmons and husband Ted of Capistrano Beach, California; three grandchildren: Aaron Simmons, Shawn Simmons and wife Heather and Ryan Simmons and wife Shannon; four great grandchildren: Corbin, Stratton, Everett and Teagan; sister in law Sarah Sutton of West Memphis, Arkansas and one nephew Jim Butler and wife Bonnie of Watkinsville.

A celebration of life will be 11am Wednesday, Sept 3, 2014, at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. David Wofford officiating.
