Born in Elberton, Ms. Nash was the daughter of the late Thomas Dean Vaughn and Miley Annie Jones Vaughn. A loving mother and grandmother, she retired after 35 years as a department head secretary at the University of Georgia. Ms. Nash was an active member of Oconee Heights Baptist Church until her health prevented attendance. She loved the Georgia Mountain Fair, bluegrass music, fishing and photography, especially taking family pictures.
Survivors include her son, Edward Nash of Stone Mountain; two grandsons: Andrew Nash of Athens and Adam Nash of Columbia, SC.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 17, at 2:00 p.m., in Evergreen Memorial Park, with Rev. Crist Camden officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bernstein Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oconee Heights Baptist Church, 4180 Jefferson Road, Athens, GA 30607.
