

A native of New York, Mrs. Pipitone was a daughter of the late Anthony and Lilly Sperazi. She graduated from Cathedral High School in New York City and received a BS degree in premed studies at Mount St. Vincent's College in Riverdale, NY in 1951. Shortly after, Sally met her husband, Richard Pipitone on a blind date and they married in 1952.
As they moved to Georgia, Mrs. Pipitone was as a Pink Lady at St. Mary's Hospital with over 1,500 hours of service. She was a gracious hostess, a gourmet cook and always there with caring arms for friends and family. She was a devoted member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Athens.
This prestigious lady could light up any room. She was genuine, insightful and admirable in all aspects of class, morale and dignity. She will always and forever be a cherished soul and remembered as a special lady.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her two loving daughters: Kathy Pipitone and Mara Leah Moore.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Survivors of this beloved family include her life partner of 63 years, Richard "Dick" Pipitone of Athens; sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Desmond Burke of New York; and her three grandchildren: Alex, Monique and Megan Moore of Atlanta.
