A native of Athens, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Henry Craig Huff and Della Smith Huff and was preceded in death by her husband, Joel H. “Zip” Thompson and son, Ray Thompson. She retired from Climax Hosiery and also worked for Direct Mail Enterprises.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie Thompson of Columbus, OH; daughters, Jenny Lentz and Loretta Vandiver both of Athens; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, November 20th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Conine officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Saturday, November 19th at Bernstein.
