Born in Atlanta, GA in 1947 to the late Robert Kenzel Swann and Johnette Gunnells Swann, she was a resident of Athens-Clarke County for more than four decades. Along with her husband, Shirlee founded and operated Reade Printers helping local businesses and the University of Georgia with marketing and communications materials for many years.
Shirlee is survived by her husband of 37 years, William Woodthorp Reade; her daughters: Kelly Arnold Johnson and Mary Melanie (Jonathan) Malnati; step-daughters: Laurie (John) Endris and Jenny (Kevin) Reid; sister, Rosalyn Swann Rock; grandchildren: Kit (Ross) Johnson, Loughrey (Yin) Johnson, Jr, and Jack (Savannah) Johnson; step-grandson, Jackson Endris; great-grandchildren: Rowan Johnson and Samara Johnson; and nieces and nephews: Shannon McElroy, Tyson (Michelle) McElroy, Allison (Michael) Cass and Adam (Sara) Swann.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald (Gail) Swann.
Funeral services will be held at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, GA 30606, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service.
