Shirley J. Patrick

She was born in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Oscar and Ruby Parham Simmons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Euri Sam Patrick; a stillborn daughter, Teresa Patrick, a daughter, Angela Gee, and her siblings, William Simmons, Hazel Counhour, Mazell Roach, Bob Simmons, Larry Simmons, and Wendall Pruitt.

Shirley was of the Presbyterian faith. She loved to travel and see family, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley will be remembered for always being there for her family and never putting herself first.

Survivors include her children, Lindsey Patrick (Gloria), Judy Croya and Mary Ruth Sutton (Jon); grandchildren, Lindsey Jr., Chris, Amy, Keith, Bobby, Todd, Kimberly, Sonya, Laura, Pamela, Greg, Brian, Kevin and Jennifer; 30 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends for Shirley will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Georgia 30606, followed by a celebration of Shirley's life at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.

Shirley will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Georgia 30606.
