A native of Athens, Mrs. Pickens was the daughter of Tammy Scoggins Babcock of Columbus, GA and the late Mark R. Babcock. She was a student at Athens Technical College and a member of New Covenant Worship Center, Athens, GA.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Danny Pickens Jr of Athens; son, Dylan Caleb Babcock of Athens daughter, Morgan Leann Babcock of Athens; and brother, Jeffrey Dustain Scoggins and wife, Melisa of Columbus, GA.
A memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday, July 28th at New Covenant Worship Center, 1425 Newton Bridge Road, Athens, Georgia with Reverand Howard Conine officiating.
Visitation with family along with reception will follow the memorial service in the Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been made for Sumer’s children, Dylan and Morgan Babcock c/o Danny Pickens Custodial Account at Bank of America, 1890 Epps Bridge Road, Athens, GA 30606.
