Terry Arthur

Terry Arthur, age 79, died on January 7, 2022. Terry was born on December 5, 1942 in Erwin, TN to the late Grover Seldon McNabb and Grace Parker McNabb. She attended West Georgia College initially, later graduating from the University of Georgia with her Bachelor’s in Education followed by her Master’s and Specialist degrees in Counseling. She worked as a teacher then counselor, primarily in the Clarke County School District, retiring in 2005.

Terry's career and her children were her two big passions. She shepherded many young minds, navigated numerous challenges and pointed thousands of children to their lifetime career. She prepared her children for lives well lived. Instilling many of her virtues in them, including her love of travel, sports, and enjoying new experiences in life.

Terry's retirement years were filled with the things she enjoyed most; spending time with her family and friends, volunteering, finding bargains, supporting the UGA Lady Dawgs, and traveling the world (eventually visiting every continent).

Terry was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Arthur; her sister, Dot McNabb; and her brothers, Dick McNabb and Harold McNabb.

Survivors include her children, Tracy Crockett, Jenny Arthur (Kristi Westhoven), and Michael Arthur-Steward (Ken Arthur-Steward); grandchildren, Chrissy Black (Thad Black) and Tony Crockett; sister, Linda Cavness; nieces and nephews, Kathy Reese, Tony Hensley, Sharon McGrew Mize and Page McGrew Brewer.

A celebration of Terry's life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 4:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at the funeral home.
