Born in Walton County on April 13, 1935, Ms. Hunter was a daughter of the late Adolphus Phillip Waters and Minnie Lee Davis Waters. She worked at the Piccadilly Cafeteria in Athens for over 30 years.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hunter was preceded in death by siblings, Jessie Ruth Malcom, Hazel Shropshire, Walker Waters, Annie Huggins and Betty Waters.
Survivors include daughters, Alisa Williams and Rosemary Hunter; son, Rowland Hunter; sister, Doris Aukamp; seven grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Donny Thomas, James Williams, Lilly Hunter, Madeline Hunter, Reese Hunter and Alex Wimberly; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Thomas, Dallas Conner, Mason Thomas Conner and Noah Thomas; several nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9, at 1:00 p.m., at the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel with her nephew, Pastor Michael Waters officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
