Tom was one of the nicest people I have ever known. He had a gracious manner and wonderful sense of humor. He was never unkind and was a forgiving man. Intelligence and warmth were part and parcel of his personality. I attended his graduation from Emory and was extremely proud of his accomplishment. I'm immensely proud that I was one of his friends. When I published my first novel, he kindly attended a book signing hosted at UGA and quickly made friends with my husband, Bill, who enjoyed his company a great deal. He was that kind of person: at first meeting you felt as if Tom was a trustworthy friend. My heart goes out to his family and I keep them in prayer. Tom will never be forgotten. His generosity and friendly manner will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Laurie Rothrock Dick
