
Tommy, a native of Athens, Georgia was the son of Doris Doolittle Howell McClung, Athens, and the late Thomas Doyle Howell, Sr.
Following graduation from Athens High School, Tom completed a degree from Southern Tech, State
University, a division of Georgia Tech. He retired from Rheem/Rudd Manufacturing 2007. In his 35 years of service in the air condition business he had achieved and received several man of the year awards. After returning to Athens, he has been involved in several volunteer activities, including being awarded the volunteer of the Year Award from the Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2009 and 2010.
Tom was a member of The Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church and active in various committees. He was also a licensed Amateur Radio Operator.
Tom is survived by his wife, Cynthia L. Nunnally, Athens, son, T. Scott Howell, Florida, daughters Robyn (Stan) Shepherd of Texas and Kelli (Mike) Morrell of Dallas, Georgia. Sister, Susan (Lamar) Baldwin of Acworth, Georgia. He is also survived by grandchildren: Kyleigh and Evan Strid, Alley Howell, Dakota and Caroline Morrell. Also, a niece, Beth Baldwin.
Memorial services will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, December 20th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for contributions to be made to Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church, 973 Prince Avenue, Athens, Georgia 30606.
