Thomas Allen Lupton III

Thomas Allen Lupton III, 68, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, September 15, 2026. A resident of Watkinsville, he was a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and preceded in death by his father, Thomas Allen Lupton Jr., mother, Beth Marley Lupton, nephew, Ewing Bradley Strang, and trusted four-legged companion, Trace Lupton.

Allen was a 1977 graduate of The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and attended the University of Richmond, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Fraternity. His steady determination and thoughtful approach to life were evident early on, shaping the way he learned, worked, and cared for those around him.

Over the course of his professional life, Allen worked in sales for The Coca-Cola Company and later brought the Red Bull energy drink to Northeast Georgia. He carried himself with quiet confidence and purpose, earning respect through reliability, diligence, and the kind of leadership that is shown as much in consistency as in ambition.

An outdoorsman and athlete, Allen found genuine joy in competition and camaraderie. During his time at Baylor School he was a multi-sport athlete, competing in football, baseball, and wrestling. His summers were spent taking care of polo horses and saddling up for a match whenever given the opportunity. As an adult he realized his dominance in the game of racquetball, with a case of trophies to prove it. His passion for the outdoors was conveyed in his leadership as President of his treasured Stubbs Island Hunting Club in Dundee, Mississippi. Allen loved many things but very few could rival his affection for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. “It’s game day babbby! GO DAWGS.” Through all of his endeavors he prided himself on being fully engaged in the moment and finding joy in everything he did. Above all these things, his greatest love was his family.

Allen was a longtime member of Alps Road Presbyterian Church in Athens, where his faithful presence spoke to a life grounded in enduring values and community.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Naomi Bishop Lupton; children, Hannah Lupton Breal (Greyson), Thomas Allen Lupton IV, and grandson, Baylor Allen Breal (who brought him incredible joy); sisters, Kim Strang (Ewing), Boofie Crimmins (Ryan), and numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cynthia Shepherd and Dr. Gordon Schoenfeld with UCBC and their staff, as well as Dr. Andrew McKown and his team at Athens Pulmonary for their exceptional care and affection.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Lupton Residence in Watkinsville, Georgia on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
