Allen was one of my dearest friends in high school and college.  Unfortunately we lost touch in our early 20s and I'd been searching (unsuccessfully) for him through social media for years.  I just recently learned he passed away a few years ago and was crushed by the news; I'd always hoped we would be able to reconnect one day.  
I have such wonderful memories of a great friend:  Allen was incredibly smart, sooo funny, generous and always kind.  When I remember Allen, I will think of us zooming around Atlanta in his beloved Karmann Ghia, and having a wonderful time together.  I will always treasure our friendship and my memories of him.  To his family and friends, I sent my deepest sympathy.
