

She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on February 8, 1939 to the late John Elmer Berg and Ann Rudy Berg.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara McGrath (Doug) of Phoenix, Arizona, Beverly Zwick of Duluth, Georgia and Karen Aldrich (Albert) of St. Augustine, Florida; brother, Jack Berg (Elizabeth) of St. Peters, Missouri; ten beloved nieces and nephews and six grand-nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a long time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was active in the Athens community. Virginia's overseas career began in Afghanistan where she was a teacher.
After earning her PhD at the University of Georgia, she worked for the Department of Defense in Korea and Germany as a school psychologist. She became a world traveler and an inspiration to all who knew her.
Visitation for the family will be hosted on Saturday, February 17 from 4-6 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 18 at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Park in Atlanta on Monday, February 19 at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
