He was preceded in death by his parents: Carroll Magill Wellman and Walter Morton Wellman, Jr.; and brother, Tom Wellman.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Susan Bell Wellman; and daughters: Laura Wellman Maxwell and grandson, Jamar Maxwell, of Athens, GA, Liza Wellman Ingram (Brian) of Monroe, GA, and Carroll Anne Wellman Sowerby (Joe) and grandchildren: Scarlet, and Wells of Missoula, MT.
He is also survived by sister, Betsy Wellman Calhoun (Murray) of Columbus, GA; and sister, Oby Wellman Dupree (David) of Statham, GA; and many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.
