Wayman B. Griffeth, 67, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 after an extended illness.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Albert Bert Griffeth and the late Ruth Baxter Griffeth and was also preceded in death by a sister Betty Ruth Williams. Mr. Griffeth was a 1966 graduate of Athens High School and was part owner of A.B. Griffeth and Sons Painting Contractors. With his wonderful quiet sense of humor he enjoyed travel, watching football, especially the UGA Bulldogs. He had served as past president of the Help Your Neighbor Society and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Jo Ann Apenbrink Griffeth of Athens; son Andrew Griffeth and wife Lindsay of Athens; brother James Albert Griffith and wife Janet of Athens; sisters Doris Ruth Cleghorn of Athens and Patricia G. Powell of Athens, brother-in-law Edwin J. Apenbrink and wife Martha and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11AM Monday, April 20th at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David McGuinness officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park
The family will receive guests Sunday, April 19th at Bernstein from 5-7 PM.
