From his youth, William embraced the freedom that came with exploring nature. Hunting, fishing and camping were his favorite pastimes in life. Upon graduating high school in 1953 he joined the Air Force, where he quickly earned the rank of captain while serving during the Korean War. After his military service, he furthered his education by attending the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1960. Five years later, he married the love of his life, Mary Teresa Kienel. They were married 60 years and raised two sons.
William was a pilot and successful entrepreneur who spent much of his life working as a realtor and stock market day trader. He was a problem solver known for his kindness, patience and generosity. As a realist and God-fearing man, his belief was based in logic as much as ideology. He was contemplative and highly intelligent and showed love by what he did. He will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him and always remembered fondly.
