William Donald Carnes

A native of Athens, GA, Mr. Carnes was the son of the late Roy Carnes and Mae Jordan Ginn. He was a retired manager with Leon Farmer and Company.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Sorrow Carnes of Athens; daughters, Terri Logan-Short and husband, Randy of Athens and Vicki Anderson and husband, Dale of Arnoldsville; sister, Ruth Spratlin and husband, Gus of Winterville; brother-in-law, Bob Sorrow and his wife, Barbara of Warner Robins; sister-in-law, Faye Helth of Athens; 3 granddaughters, Keri Sanders and husband, Brandon of Arnoldsville, Mary-Morgan Logan of Athens, and Tiffany Anderson of Arnoldsville; 2 grandsons, Casey Anderson of Arnoldsville and Colby Short of Athens; and 1 great-grandson, Logan Sanders of Arnoldsville.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday, October 21st in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Holcombe officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Thursday, October 20th at Bernstein.
