Born in Athens, Butch was a son of the late William Leonard "Billy" Moore Sr. and Betty Lou Chapman Moore. He worked as a plumber with Moore and Sons Plumbing. He loved fishing, hunting, making knives and painting landscapes.
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Jordan.
Survivors include his wife of seven years, Brenda Martin Moore of Bogart; sister, Dianne Garrett (Darrell) of Commerce; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m., at Nicholson City Cemetery with Chaplain Eric Buffington officiating.
