William Joe Paz Soldan

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy. They were married in Barranca, Peru on February 15, 1960.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his children, Vanessa Green of Atlanta, GA, Willie Paz Soldan of Fayetteville, NC, Giovanna Gertz of Marietta, GA and Rachel Billings of Fayetteville, NC; grandkids, Megan and Morgan Green, Joshua and Jacob Hewell, Hannah and Milton Gertz; and brothers, Carlos and Oscar Paz Soldan.

Bill was born in Huacho, Peru on May 16, 1935. He enjoyed soccer, volleyball, fishing and cooking his country’s favorite foods. His fondest memories are those spent with family and friends and reminiscing of his life as a young man in Peru.

The visitation will be held Saturday, November 5 from 5-7 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, GA 30606.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 6 at 12 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 134 Prince Ave., Athens, GA 30601. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, GA 30606.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Diabetes Foundation.
