He was a native of Clarke County. Mr. Alewine was founder/owner of Alewine's Towing and Buck's Towing for many years. Mr. Alewine is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Rita Joyce Burkhalter Alewine; mother, Melba Brown Fields; father, Willie Mitchell Alewine; brothers, Johnny Paul and Bill Alewine; sister, Brenda Wimburn and father-in-law, Charlie Burkhalter.
Mr. Alewine is survived by his daughter, Missy (Brian) Dobbs, Danielsville; son, Mitch (Amanda) Alewine, Hull; grandchildren, Colby and Brady Collier, Ainsley, Alston and Ava Grace Alewine, Hunter and Olivia Hudson; great-grandchild, Madilyn Joyce Fagan; sisters, Barbara Peterman and Frankie McDonald; brother, Buddy Alewine; mother-in-law, Shirley Burkhalter; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Colby and Brady Collier, Alston Alewine, Lewis Burdette, Holden Herbert and Patrick Minor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Hudson, Chris Stowers, Ethan Burkhalter and Marion Hammes.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park. Michael Tittle and Rev. Mike Stowers will officiate the service.
The family is at the Alewine residence, 7454 Nowhere Road, Hull.
