A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Hayes was a son of the late James Hayes and Lucille Morrison Hayes. He was the owner of Hayes Trucking.
There will be a private burial.
Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Mildred Hayes of Arnoldsville.
