

Mrs. Borrish worked as an internal auditor at Southern Bell/AT&T for 41 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Physics at Agnes Scott College in 1941. As a Fellow of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Aileen was one of the first two women to be elected to the Institute.
Mrs. Borrish also received an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Mercer University in 2005. Longtime supporters of educational endeavors, she and her husband, Fred, were lifetime members of the President’s Club of Mercer University, with particular interest in the Douglas County Regional Academic Center, housed by the Fred W. and Aileen Kasper Borrish Building where they also generously funded a state-of-the-art Science Laboratory.
A person of faith and dedication, she was beloved by a large circle of friends and neighbors. She was the last living Charter Member of the Second - Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, in Atlanta, where she was the pianist for Dr. Briton’s Men’s Bible class for many years, and was married to Fred William Borrish by Dr. Monroe F. Swilley, Feb 28, 1947.
During World War II, she was a member of the American National Red Cross in Washington, DC.
Mrs. Borrish is preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Borrish; brother, George Henry Kasper Jr.; and nephew Stephen Owen Kasper (Leslie). She is survived by sister-in-law, Dorothy Owen Kasper; nephew, Richard Kasper (Erin); niece, Cheryl Kasper; 1 great-niece and 3 great-nephews (Holly, Christopher, George, and Sam).
The funeral will be held at Second - Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, 2715 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, at 3 o’clock on Sunday, March 1, with visitation one hour prior. Graveside Service will be held at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, at 1 o’clock on Monday, March 2.
