Alex Berne Kaminshine, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on July 29, 2018. He is survived by his parents, Amy Berne and Steven Kaminshine, sister Sarah Kaminshine, niece Amapola Chavez Kaminshine, grandparents Beth Berne and Renee and Sherman Kaminshine, fiancé Hannah Ruff, step-parents Cathy Jamison and Rick Klupchak, step-sisters and brothers, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Patterson’s Spring Hill, 1020 Spring Street, NW. Atlanta, GA 30309. Dress comfortably (no ties). Alex graduated from the Paideia High School where he played varsity soccer, a sport he loved from youth soccer days. He went on to earn his B.A. in psychology from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Following graduation, he remained in Colorado to pursue his love of music by developing a career in the music business by representing musicians and bands as a booking agent. After several years, he relocated to Charlotte, NC for an irresistible opportunity to associate with a more substantial agency. Integrated with music was Alex’s love of nature and the outdoors, a love that he nurtured in the Flatirons of Boulder and the snow-capped Rockies where he was able to ski and develop a fondness for the snow board. Alex’s personality was both gentle and bursting with a love of life. He wanted to experience everything. His warm smile and unpretentiousness put everyone at ease. He cherished his friendships and never missed an opportunity to laugh. He lived simply and loved deeply. He saved his best for his fiancé Hannah Ruff. Alex’s last weeks were spent hiking and camping the Pacific Northwest with Hannah, the love of his life, doing what he loved. Alex and I shared a mutual love of music, the outdoors, travel and adventure that made us instant friends. I will always cherish the wonderful memories of the time we shared together here in Charlotte, both in friendship and as co-workers. One of my favorite times spent with AK was on a business trip to Memphis attending the Blues Music Awards, combining many of these mutual loves into a wonderful shared experience. It was a privilege to work alongside you, and an honor to call you my friend. Sending my love and support to Hannah and to all of Alex’s family. AK, you were one of the best, and a kindred spirit. I will never forget you. Rest in peace.

Alex was a friend from the first day we met. He made me laugh A LOT! His smile was infectious. He had a great sense of humor and while he could take a joke, he could dish it out right back at you. I think that is what I liked most about him. We worked together for two years and Everyone at Intrepid Artists Loved Alex. He mad us all laugh. In the same breath, he was a hard worker and a great teammate to all of us in the office. He did his part to connect the dots and keep the ball rolling around here. Speaking for everyone at Intrepid, we are all broken hearted and send love and our condolences to Hannah and all of Alex's Family. I love you Alex and hope you are in a better place. You will be deeply missed by all. God Bless!

To the Kaminshine Family,

My heart breaks for your loss. Alex and my daughter, Whitney Iuvone, were close friends at Oak Grove. I remember him as an adorable, impish little boy. I am so sorry for your loss. We, too, lost a daughter six years ago under similar circumstances. If I can help you in any way on this painful journey, please reach out to me at The support of others who have lost an adult child can help so much. Prayers and love sent to you all. Betsy Iuvone

We’ve known Alex since infancy, and witnessed his wit, his charm, his love of life, his love for you, and your love for him. We are heartbroken for you, but know that your love for, and support of, each other will sustain you and give you perspective allowing you to focus on all of the good things you experienced in Alex’s too-short life. Godspeed to all of you. Love Roy, Bonnie, Jared and Bari

I remember a 9th grade spring break trip to Grayton Beach. I drove Alex, my son Blake German, Zack Stokes and at least five other Paideia freshmen boys to Florida’s emerald coast for a week long adventure in a three story rented house. It was an experience I will never forget. Alex was an energetic life of the party. May he Rest In Peace.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
