
ANNE RHYNE SUHR, 77, of Atlanta, Georgia was born March 14, 1933 in Marion, Virginia and passed away peacefully at her home on December 31, 2010. Mrs. Suhr graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia, South Carolina, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 1953. She was a high school teacher at Brookland-Cayce High School in Columbia, and in 1955 she married Reverend Karl F. Suhr. They moved to Atlanta in 1955 where she helped her husband in his ministry at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, the mission church he helped develop and served for his entire career. She was active in various church groups and organizations as well as with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Mrs. Suhr was preceded in death by her parents the Reverend Doctor Hugh J. and Mildred D. Rhyne. She is survived by her husband of 55 years and sister, Jean Rhyne of Columbia, South Carolina. She is also survived by two sons, a daughter and their spouses, Reverend Karl F. Suhr, Jr. and Joan B. Suhr of Little Mountain, South Carolina, Hugh R. and Emily H. Suhr of Decatur, Georgia, and Kris Anne and Phillip Zenoni of Marietta, Georgia, and grandchildren, Ashlyn, David and Rebecca Suhr of Little Mountain, South Carolina, Katie Suhr of Los Angeles, California, Austin Suhr of Decatur, Georgia, and Suzanne Zenoni of Marietta, Georgia. The service will be Monday, January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer at 731 Peachtree St., NE, Atlanta, Georgia, the family will receive friends at 1:00 p. m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Memorial Fund, the University of South Carolina Alumni Association, or a Parkinson's association. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 4th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Little Mountain, South Carolina.
