Annie Elizabeth Walker

Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Walker, 93, of Chamblee, passed away on June 25, 2019 in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Mrs. Walker was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Leon and MaryLou Strong on August 16, 1925. She married Carney C. Walker on December 14, 1946 with a honeymoon to Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, Alabama. She worked many years as a book keeper for various companies, and in retirement enjoyed antiquing and gardening.

Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by her sister, Frances Reaves, her father, Leon Strong, her mother, MaryLou Strong, and her husband, Carney Walker.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughter, Melanie Gurley, her son and his spouse, Craig and Jane Walker, and her granddaughter and her spouse, Blythe Gurley and Eric Douglas.

Visitation services will be held from 11am-1pm on Friday, June 28th at H.M. Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319. There will be a graveside service to follow at 2pm with Minister Liz Pearson officiating at Green Lawn Cemetery of Roswell, Georgia. Arrangements are by H.M. Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Hill.

Flowers may be sent to H.M. Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Hill Chapel. Or donations may be made in Mrs. Walker's name to the Senior Outreach Program of John's Creek Baptist Church, attention to David White, Connections Pastor, 6910 McGinnis Ferry Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30005.

The family of Mrs. Annie Walker wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Emory St, Joseph's Hospital, the ICU staff of Northside Hospital, the staff of MeSun Hospice of Lawrenceville, the senior outreach program of John's Creek Baptist Church, her many friends that have visited with her over the years, and her special neighbors that have assisted in so many ways. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
