My dearest Turner family, 

I have just this minute heard of your dear mom's passing. Teddy called my mom today, and mom just called me. Words cannot express how much I loved and appreciated your mom, and of course your dad. They were like my parents when I was growing-up there, and Billy and I were forever getting in trouble. Barbara was one of the funniest human beings I have ever know. Even though I didn't get to see her often, when I did, it was like no time had passed. I know she will be sorely missed. I feel better knowing that when we get to the pearly gates, she'll be there with some great line about the place. I only wish that I'd known of her passing, I would have come up. But, as it is, your mom was doing fairly well last time I saw her, so that will be my memory of her...funny, beautiful and laughing. My sincerest condolences and much, much love. Antonio C.

33 years ago I met Barbara when we were both seeking a higher education. She and I were in the same study group. Without her support I'm not so sure I would have completed the two year course. Thank you Barb for your wisdom and and presence in my life. You will always be in my prayers and in my heart.

My deepest sympathy to all of the family. We really need consoling in order to deal with the pain so I hope that you will find comfort from the words at Isaiah 65:20. The promise stated there will give you something to think about and to look forward to in the future.

"Aunt Barbara" (she was actually a second cousin) was truly one of the kindest and most selfless souls I ever knew. I always felt welcome, safe and loved in the Turner home when my family lived in Atlanta during a short stint growing up. When I was 10, I had an emergency appendectomy and was very sick from the anesthesia post-surgery. It was Barbara who stayed with me all night in my hospital room, taking care of a sick and frightened little girl. To this day, I remember that extraordinary act of kindness. Much love and sympathy to the Turner family.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill Turner at Uniroyal Tire for over 35 years and my wife Janice and I had many good times with Bill and Barbara.  Both were very good people.  Rest in Peace!  Herman and Janice Horne.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Barbara Turner for 35 years. Over those years, Mrs.Turner has been like a second Mom to me. Barbara Turner was loving, generous, compassionate, and had a great sense of humor. She will truly be missed!

Mrs. Turner was the mother of Barkston Court, keeping all the kids who grew up there in line and well fed with great Italian food.  I know Mr. Turner welcomed her with open arms with K-9 companions by his side, including Daisy and Tippy. A great family from the two of them in place to carry on their legacy of kindness.

Barbara was a light in our family. She was truely a loving and giving sister, aunt and sister-in law to our whole family. We shall miss her every day and hold her in our hearts forever.  Jack, Peg  Ambruso and the Boys

We are neighbors of Mrs. Turner on Barkston Court.  My mother lived with us for 3 yrs. prior to her death on 2007.  Mrs. Turner was gracious enough to go out for dinner with us to give my mother some additional companionship with another senior citizen.  When my mother passed away, Mrs. Turner arranged for a mass to be said in my mother's memory.  It was a gesture of kindness from a very kind and caring lady and one we will never forget.
