Bernice Ory, 96, of Atlanta, passed away October 12, 2010 at her home following a long illness. Mrs. Ory, nee LeBlanc, was born June 10, 1914 in Lafourche Parish, LA. She married Colonel Murphy A. Ory April 9, 1934 and supported his military career. Among the founding members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, she devoted her entire life to her family and her church. She was much loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son and his wife, James and Susan Ory of Murrayville, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jack Bailey of Las Vegas, NV; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial service is scheduled at 11 AM Monday, October 25, 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 2855 Briarcliff Rd., Atlanta, GA. Interment will be with her husband at National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Voluntary Service of the Veterans Hospital. Checks should be made out to VAVS and mailed to VAMC, 1670 Clairmont Rd., Decatur, GA 30033, Attn: Voluntary Service and noted "in memory of Bernice Ory."
