Carol was born at Ft. McPherson in Atlanta Georgia to Arthur and Margaret Cox on April 6th, 1943. She attended elementary school in Bermuda, and graduated from high school in Hokkaido Japan where she was a member of one of the first Girl Scout Troops on the island. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority while she attended Georgia College, later graduating from Saint Leo University. Carol began her professional career at the Pentagon where she worked as a finance specialist officer. Carol met her husband, Marine Corp officer, Lloyd Buddenhagen, in Washington D.C.
Carol was passionate about wildlife of all kinds; she loved all things equestrian and used to ride her horses during free time. Carol also had a keen eye for skeet shooting. She was tenaciously dedicated to her children (an enduring member of the PTA), instilling them with the importance of faith and family. The hole left by her sudden passing is impossible to fill.
Carol is predeceased by parents Margaret and Arthur Cox, and is survived by daughter Carey Lamm (Christopher Lamm), son Scott Buddenhagen, grandson, Connor Lamm, and extended cousins.
Please join our family to celebrate Carol, as visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel on Thursday August 5th from 12-2. Chapel service begins at 2:00. Graveside interment at Arlington Memorial Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Atlanta Humane Society.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hmpattersonOglethorpe.com for the BUDDENHAGEN family.
