Catherine Crombie Pitts

Catherine was born on April 4, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH. She started her career as a stewardess for Delta Airlines in November of 1948 and flew until 1958. From 1958 to 1960, she was the Director of Delta Airline’s Stewardess Training Center. Catherine was a charter member of the Delta Clipped Wings Club and also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her passion in life was traveling but she also enjoyed reading and playing canasta.

Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Pitts, Jr. and is survived by her children, Charles H. “Bo” Pitts, III, David W. Pitts, and Meriam Pitts Freeman; grandchildren, Kelly M. Freeman, Jennifer M. Freeman, Charles T. “Chad” Pitts and Preston D. Pitts.

A graveside service will be conducted at Arlington Memorial Park on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Catherine’s name to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
