

Chuck was born in Rochester, NY to Ralph and Dorothy Fritz. He attended McQuaid Jesuit High School and later graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1965. Chuck earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and has continued to be an avid supporter of the institution over the years. Chuck married Kathleen “Kathy” Kennedy on April 2,1966 in Rochester, NY and later moved their family to Dunwoody, GA. Kathy was his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life. They were married for 55 years, up until Kathy preceded him in death in January of 2022. Chuck was the ultimate family man and spending time with his family was his top priority. To his daughters, he was a hero and best friend. He was always there for them, cheering them on, and always a tremendous support. Chuck was a doting grandfather to his cherished granddaughter Becca and he was incredibly proud of her personal and academic accomplishments. Chuck considered his sons-in-law, Steven and Joe, to be his own and it gave him great peace to know that his daughters are loved dearly and supported.
Chuck was a go-getter and very persuasive. He somehow managed to parlay a sociology degree into a successful career as an engineer. He also worked for many years as a Building Industry Consultant.
Chuck retired in 2002 after spending 30+ years with the same telephone company, which, over the years, was Southern Bell, BellSouth, and AT&T. Chuck was well-loved and well-respected in the workplace.
Chuck’s hobbies included spending time with his family, traveling, flying, walking his dog in the park, and watching UGA football. His family has countless memories, such as taking bike rides together, spending time at the lake, and going on traveling adventures. Chuck became a private pilot in 1984 and enjoyed many years of flying. In recent years, he spent time flying from his office chair using a flight simulator. Chuck was a dog lover and had a particular fondness for Shih Tzu’s. He enjoyed regular walks in the park with his best friend and his fur baby, Prince. Although Chuck was not an avid sports fan, the family often gathered to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Chuck was always ready to help on a moment’s notice and he had a true heart for service. He spent many years ushering, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and assisting with children’s religious education at his church. Chuck also spent five years volunteering at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital driving a courtesy cart. He provided a smiling, friendly face to countless people who were walking through a difficult season.
Everyone who met Chuck fell in love with him. He was kind, loving, and generous. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and making them laugh. Chuck never met a stranger and was incredibly active and sociable. He had a vital 80 years on earth and lived each day to the fullest.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, his sister, Donna Meyrath, and his grandchildren, Sean and Rachael Bradley.
Chuck is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Steven) Bradley and Christine (Joseph) DeCastro, his granddaughter, Rebecca Bradley, and a large extended family.
There will be a visitation from 4:30-6:30 pm on Thursday, January 18th at H. M. Patterson & Son -Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE. Atlanta, GA 30319.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 19th at All Saints Catholic Church 2443 Mt. Vernon Rd Dunwoody, GA 30338. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
