Professor Emeritus at Georgia Institute of Technology was an expert in fluid transients in various liquid systems, a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a Freeman Scholar and member of the International Association of Hydraulic Research. He received the Alexander von Humbolt Senior Scientist Award 1984-85, working at the Munich Technical Institute. In 2013, he was awarded the Outstanding Technical Paper Award from the ASME Fluid-Structure Interaction Technical Committee. His loving family and many friends and colleagues will miss him. He is survived by his wife Yolanda and daughter Christiana.
