Charles Dexter White, Jr of Atlanta, age 91, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday June 17, 2020. He was born in Atlanta, raised in Decatur, and attended Decatur High School. After high school he served a tour of duty in the Army during the Korean War. Afterwards he went to work for First National Bank where he met and married Doris Young of Atlanta. The couple enjoyed many, many years of marriage until Doris’ passing earlier this year. Dexter had a long career in the insurance business and eventually retired from American General. They were faithful members of Brookhaven United Methodist church for well over 50 years. He lived a long, faithful, and full life and will be missed by all. He is survived in death by his brother Gene White of Cornelia, daughter Angela White, and son Eddie (Joleah) White. He also has 4 grandchildren (Ryan, Mackenzie, Laura, and Anna) and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday morning, June 23 from 9:30 to 11:00 at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel in Brookhaven, with the service to follow at 11:00.
