Today we celebrate the life of Corey Richard Elijah Wieser. Corey began his incredible life on July 10, 1999 in Ormond Beach Florida. Corey found great joy in his computers and music, especially jazz. He expressed this love of music by playing in a band with his sister and best friends, Tom and Thomas. Corey grew up experiencing life with his best friend and sister, Hannah. Corey and Hannah were inseparable all throughout his life. They attended college together at the Advanced Academy of West Georgia in 2013, where he found and has kept his closest friends. In 2015, Corey along with his sister, attended Georgia Tech where he pursued his love of computers and music in his studies of Computer Engineering and Music Technology which he completed in July 2020.
Corey used his computer knowledge, with his friends, to win the Atlanta Code Day four times in a row. In addition to his sister, Corey grew up with his cousin Aaron who was more like his older brother. The mischief that the three of them always caused drove us crazy and always kept us on our toes. Corey was active in the Boy Scout Troop 222 where he spent many outings with his father and sometimes his sister, an honorary Scout. Corey had an opportunity to travel to many parts of the world with his family and experience the multitude of cultures, languages, people and foods. He was an avid reader who loved to discuss (argue) his point of view, even if this point of view was identical to the person that he was always arguing with (his mother). Even at his young age, Corey cared about social and economic disparities of this world. He was in the process of developing a center that assisted the homeless in obtaining jobs by holding resume classes, preparing people for interviews and giving them an address and a phone number for callbacks.
Corey loved people and made friends everywhere that he went, no matter if they were young or old.
Corey was preceded in death by his late maternal grandmother, Marilyn “Judy” Amede. He leaves behind to mourn: His parents Richard and Kelly Wieser, sister and best friend Hannah Wieser, fiancée Sreedhanya Veerapaneni, grandparents Richard and Marnie Wieser, cousin (who was more like a brother) Aaron Amede, cousins Alyssa and Alyson Magorrian, Tessana-Maria Hernandez, Aunts Shelly Biggart and Tessa Amede-Hernandez, Great Uncle Horace Amede of Tobago and a number of other cousins, Great Aunts, Uncles and a myriad of friends, including his family of Theta Chi fraternity brothers.
We invite family, friends and guests to celebrate Corey's life by wearing his favorite color, lavender, and listening to the music he has created. Corey will live on in all of us as we listen to our music and partake in good food. There will always be the four of us, The Wiesers.
