Daphne Lee Casey was the kind of woman who reluctantly opened get well cards, because the attention embarrassed her. She could discipline a child, or a husband, with her gentle strength. She could stretch a penny further than any two Scotsmen could ever hope to. She passed away Tuesday, July 27th 2010. And she and her husband Patrick raised five remarkable children, who are now raising twelve remarkable grandchildren. Her husband, her family and her church were her life. She cherished spending time with her bible study class, knitting clubs and her bridge group. Upon being diagnosed with cancer, she found tremendous strength and courage from her cancer support group. The friendships she made were deep and long lasting. Daphne’s soul is pure, honest, and above all, kind and generous. We will miss her loving smile. She will follow her mother Minnie Lee Abrams (Minnie Sikes Lee), her father John L. Lee and stepfather John C. Abrams, to live with the Lord. Daphne is survived by her husband Patrick as well as her children and their respective families: Leigh Casey Mack and husband Bob along with their children Kasey and Harrison; Maria Casey Tomaszewski and husband Steve along with their daughters Maggie and Ella; Bridget Casey Jackson and husband Terry along with their daughters Maria, Lily, Camile; Patrick Harold Casey Jr. and wife Patricia along with their children Charley and Emily; and John Paul Casey and wife Erin along with their children McKenna, Teague and Hunter; brother-in-law, Gene and Betty Casey; honorary pallbearers, Roy Loncon, Richard Buttimer, Joe Butler, Tom Dotson, Bill Deegan, John Reckling, Dr. Tom Brown, and Leonard Herb.
