David Sinclair Ferguson

Born to Angus Sinclair Ferguson and Roberta (Dively) Ferguson, Dave lived a full and accomplished life marked by professional success, lasting friendships, and, above all, devotion to his faith and family.

He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, Ohio, and Youngstown State University, where he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Dave began working as a stock boy at his parents' store, Roberta's, while still in high school. From those beginnings, he built an extraordinary retail career that culminated in serving as President and CEO of Walmart Canada and later Walmart Europe. He also served on the boards of Miller Zell, Sobeys (Canada), and Exide Technologies.

Known for his curiosity, warmth, and genuine interest in others, Dave had a remarkable ability to connect with people and build lasting relationships throughout his life.

He adored his wife, Sandra (Parti) Ferguson. Married for nearly 60 years and together since middle school, theirs was a remarkable love story that spanned a lifetime. Sandy was everything to him—a true partner in every sense of the word—and the life they built together was the foundation of his greatest happiness.

Together, they embraced opportunities to live and travel throughout North America and Europe, creating homes and lasting memories in Boston, Toronto, Germany, and the United Kingdom before eventually settling in Atlanta.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, David Ferguson, Jr. (Holly) and Bradley Ferguson (Eleanor); his grandchildren, Bennett, Clay, Charles, Haley, Kathryn, and Angus Ferguson; his step-grandchildren, Williams Post, Townsend Post, Jackie Post, and Thomas Bayman; his sister, Cheryl Ferguson; and his sister-in-law, Beverly (Parti) Reeves, and her husband, Jon Reeves. He is also survived by his nieces, Stacy Austin and Heather Maki, along with their families.

Nothing brought Dave greater happiness than his family. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and loved cheering them on through every stage of life.

Dave enjoyed tennis and croquet at Lake Toxaway Country Club, Delray Beach Club, and Cherokee Town & Country Club, where he formed many lasting friendships. He valued the relationships he developed through these organizations and through his church communities. His faith remained a guiding force throughout his life and was reflected in the kindness, humility, and generosity he extended to others. Music also remained a constant throughout his life, beginning with his high school group, The Sophomores, and continuing for decades thereafter.

Dave will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a proud grandfather, a respected business leader, and a friend whose genuine interest in others left a lasting impression. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the example he set, and the love he shared.

In accordance with Dave's wishes, a private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life.
