April 19, 1954 - December 24, 2018
Debbie Weeks Felker passed away peacefully early Christmas Eve morning after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. She fought the disease with all her might and with faith and grace, inspiring all around her. She is survived by her husband Ric Felker and their children Reeves Felker, Sarah Felker and Allison Hedgecoth, Allison’s husband Charlie and their children.
Also surviving are siblings Marsha Weeks, Ray Weeks (Jill), Patty Weeks (John Barbour) and John Weeks. She is survived by her sister-in-law Betty King (Rob) and step-sister-in-law Peggy Hatcher. Surviving nieces and nephews are Stewart and Alex Barbour, Wilson, Abbie, Carter and Parker King, Harry and Emily Weeks, Lucy Hatcher and Aidan, Noah and Brodie Weeks. Survived by her parents-in-law Bebe Hatcher and Richard Felker (Becky), she is predeceased by her parents Pat Weeks and Al Weeks and her step-father-in-law Bill Hatcher.
To say that Debbie had an enormous number of friends would be tremendous understatement - from E Rivers, Northside, University of Georgia, Peachtree Garden Club, bridge group, from doctors, nurses, infusion patients to nearly everyone she met. She possessed an uncommon touch with people, grounded in her humility, her kindness and her fun-loving spirit. She was genuine and one of a kind.
Debbie was an accomplished wedding planner who developed lasting relationships with her brides. She was a talented and prize-winning flower arranger, competitive at tennis (and bocce, board games, darts, shuffleboard, everything really) and one heck of a card player.
Debbie loved her family with all her heart, and enjoyed nothing more than Sunday cookouts and summer days at Pawleys Island with her grandchildren Montana and Nathan Hedgecoth and Hudson Hedgecoth.
She will be terribly missed, but forever remembered with gratitude for the love she spread among so many.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, December 28, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.
Donations in Debbie’s memory may be made to the animal sanctuary Noah’s Ark, Donor Services, 712 LG Griffin Road, Locust Grove, GA 30248 www.noahs-ark.org.
