

Denise was born in March of 1958 at Emory Hospital Atlanta. She was a graduate of Woodward Academy in 1975. She went on to receive an Associate Degree from Dalton State College. Denise was a long-time member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, where she was a member of the choir and volunteered in the church nursery. Denise loved babies and animals, especially dogs and horses. She often served as a judge for AKA Dog Shows in Perry, GA. She was an avid equestrian, who trained in Dressage in her youth. Denise enjoyed traveling both the USA and internationally. Germany was a favorite destination for her. Denise was an avid supporter of Olympic sports, Georgia professional and college sports teams-always rooting for Georgia Tech.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis O. Parker and brother, Mark Keven Rice. Survivors include her father, George L. Rice, Sister-in-laws Diane M. Rice (Mark) and Michele M. Barnett (Kirk), nieces Olivia M. Rice, and Frances D. Rice; nephew Alex L. Powell; and many dear family and friends, including Precha Meelaphsom, Marcie Meelaphsom, Mara Meelaphsom, Matt Meelaphsom and Lee Bush.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in memory of Denise to Woodward Academy or Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
