Dorothy H. Champion

Dorothy Hill Champion, 97, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011. She was born on July 27, 1913, in Tignall, Georgia, to parents, Lodowick and Jesse Hill. Mrs. Champion was a Phi Mu at University of Georgia and was a real estate agent for Northside Realty. She was a Pink Lady at Piedmont Hospital for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dallis Champion, Sr., and her grandson, Scott Harrison Champion. Mrs. Champion is survived by her sons, Thomas Dallis Champion, Jr. (Dot), Wellborn Hill Champion, and her daughter, Mary Champion Merritt (Johnny), grandchildren, Thomas Dallis Champion III (Angie), Carol Champion Turner (Mark), Leigh Elizabeth Champion, Michele Champion Merritt, and John Webster Merritt III, 6 great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild. She will be missed by many family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Peachtree Road Methodist Church – 3180 Peachtree Rd. Interment will be in Elberton, Georgia, at the Elmhurst Cemetery at 3:00. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Piedmont Auxiliary – Pink Ladies. H.M.
