Dorothy Virginia Wells Angel

Dorothy Virginia Wells Angel passed away November 10, 2013, in Atlanta, Georgia.  A musician since childhood, her heart and home were filled with music. She attended Montevallo University, and after graduation she taught school until she married Mickey Angel after only knowing him four months. Their love went the distance in a marriage of 56 ½ years. Dot sang in the Atlanta Singers and Chorale, invested her heart in Atlanta First Methodist Church, and loved ministering through music as the organist at Oglethorpe Hill Funeral Home for 30+ years. But her main focus and joy were in her family and children, both her own and those of her church. She was compassionate beyond measure, and poured her life and love into all she knew. Dot had a deep desire to know and follow God, and her faith in Jesus impacted the lives of many. She is loved, honored and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Oglethorpe Hill.  The funeral will be held there also at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon in the chapel.  Dot is survived by her husband Mickey, her favorite children Steve, Larry, Sharon and Connie, her grandchildren Lauren, Beth, Carolyne, Renner, Regan, Savannah and Kendra, and her brothers Bob and Claude.
